Eternigy puts first charging park for e-cars into operation in Berlin
Eternigy GmbH, a planner and operator of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, is opening its first charging park. The subsidiary of HIH Real Estate is putting the first 14 charging points into operation in the underground car park of the b.central office and commercial building at Friedrichstrasse 191 in Berlin. A further 18 will follow in the course of 2024.
The client is HIH Invest Real Estate GmbH, the building's investment manager. The charging park is part of a comprehensive decarbonisation and smart building strategy that HIH Invest is implementing for the property. Users of the charging stations include the property's office tenants. On the other hand, a renowned car rental company, which also occupies space in the 20,700 square metre property, needs the charging points for its fleet of electric cars. A particular challenge of the project was to take into account the different needs of the tenants in terms of load management. This is because the car hire company has a higher demand for charging capacity, while the office tenants' vehicles require a lower charging intensity that is distributed continuously throughout the day.
While eternigy is responsible for the technical and legal conception, organisation and long-term operation of the project, GOLDBECK Technical Solutions GmbH is responsible for the technical implementation. The two companies are already planning and preparing a number of other joint projects.
Falk Schönberg, Managing Director of eternigy, comments: "With GOLDBECK Technical Solutions, we have an ideal partner for the installation of our charging technology. Their reliability, expertise and implementation strength are an important building block in achieving our goal of meeting the high demand and putting over 1,000 charging points into operation in the three years following our launch in April 2023."
Stefan Gilz, authorised signatory at GOLDBECK Technical Solutions, adds: "I am delighted with the successful start to our close and trusting collaboration and look forward to further joint projects. We have developed a scalable solution that can be easily transferred to other planned projects."
All users of the eternigy wallboxes can charge their e-vehicles using a personal charging card. A corresponding app contains information on prices, the nearest charging stations and billing details. The launch of this app is planned for spring 2024.
