VGP, a pan-European provider of logistics and semi-industrial real estate, has handed over to the Swiss technology company Flisom AG a building in its VGP Park Kecskemét. VGP Park Kecskemét is located in the southern industrial area of Kecskemét, directly adjacent to the city ring road at approximately 5 km from the M5 / E75 motorway linking Budapest and South-East Europe. Good infrastructure and public transport are available on site. Kecskemét and its nearby region is a home to more than 200,000 inhabitants. VGP Park Kecskemét is being built on a site of approx. 86.000 m2 which will represent a total rentable area of about 40.000 m2. The first building is under construction with a total rentable space of approx. 17.000 m2.

Besides Flisom, the company Bohnenkamp will move into this first building in December 2020. The development of the second building will start next year. VGP owns a second plot in the same industrial area with a total rentable area of approx. 39.000 m2. Development will start after the completion of the first park Flisom is a technology company that has developed breakthrough solar film technology which enables its usage in a wide variety of applications, ranging from building roofs and facades to transportation platforms and consumer electronic devices. Flisom is setting up its first industrial scale 50MW manufacturing facility in VGP Park Kecskemét to serve its expanding global customer base. The production facility with adjacent offices with a total surface of approx. 10,000 m2, is an example of VGP’s tailor-made solutions. For this specialized production site, VGP installed a reinforced concrete structure to serve as “clean room” and is providing the building with an optimal energy supply.

Laszlo Balogh, Commercial Director of VGP Hungary, says: “We are pleased to welcome an innovative technology company as Flisom to our park. It’s good to see that our flexibility to create turnkey projects can be a determining factor in the choice of our customers. We look forward to our new partnership with great pleasure.”

Sustainability and energy efficiency are central parameters for the commercial real estate developed by VGP. The company launched and implemented numerous initiatives in 2019 alone. One of these is the introduction of VGP Renewable Energy, a new separate business unit wholly owned by VGP N.V., to use the available roof space at VGP's parks for photovoltaic systems and modern energy technologies. The company has set itself the goal of
certifying all new buildings to be constructed from 2020 onwards with a BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) Very Good certification.
