Fontana House on Vaci Utca to disappear and make way for new apartments in downtown Budapest

Fontana House is making way for a new development. The building located right in the middle of downtown Budapest, on the corner of Vaci Street and Regiposta Street, is being demolished. The investor, German retail store Müller, after a lengthy process received a permit to partially demolish the Fontana House that was opened in 1984. The investor plans on building in its place 35 large luxury aparments, and a Müller store on the ground floor.
