The Austrian transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss has expanded its network of logistics terminals in Romania, with a new hub in the southeast of Bucharest, in Popești-Leordeni. The project is built on a land of 7 hectares.

Gebrüder Weiss built, in stages, a park with eight storage halls and two cross-docking logistics terminals, with a total area of approximately 33,000 sqm. In a first phase, the construction of four warehouses and a docking hall was targeted, with a total area of 16,824 sqm, an investment valued at EUR 7.8 million.

The carrier's development plan is to build a new warehouse in the second phase and the remaining three warehouses, plus the cross-docking terminal, in the final phase of construction.

Currently, the largest logistics area of Gebrüder Weiss Romania is concentrated in the west of Bucharest, totaling 35,000 sqm. The second largest center is located in Arad, followed by the hub in Cluj-Napoca and those in Sibiu and Brașov. The company also occupies premises of about 3,000 sqm in Constanța, Craiova and Bacău.
