The American investment firm Goldman Sachs and Highgate Hotels has purchased the European hotel portfolio of the Austrian hotel group K+K. The price of the deal, which includes the 4-star Fenix hotel and Central hotel (both in central Prague), was not revealed. The Secession-era Central hotel on Hybernská street in Prague 1 has 127 rooms, as does the Fenix hotel on Ve Smečkách near Wenceslas square. Investor interest in European hotels has been rising since last year. CBRE estimates a total of €20bn has been spent on them during 2015. The Chinese investor CEFC has reportedly completed the acquisition of Le Palais Art Hotel Prague in Prague’s 2nd district.
