GUS: In January-April, transport machinery and equipment grew the fastest by 34% y/y

The fastest growth in exports in January-April 2021 concerned machinery and transport equipment (by 34%), non-edible raw materials except fuels (by 32.5%), various industrial products (by 30 7%), oils, fats, animal and vegetable waxes (by 28.1%), industrial goods classified mainly by raw material (by 23.6%), chemicals and related products (by 18.9%), mineral fuels, lubricants and derivatives (by 11.6%) of food and live animals (by 8.9%) and beverages and tobacco (by 1.4%), while a decrease was recorded in goods and transactions not classified in the SITC (by 25.9% ), the Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported.

After four months of this year, the trade in goods according to the SITC nomenclature, compared to the same period of 2020, recorded an increase in almost all commodity sections, both in import and export.

In imports, the largest increase was recorded in goods and transactions not classified under the SITC (by 62.9%), various industrial goods (by 26.0%), in industrial goods classified mainly by raw material (by 25.9%), machinery and equipment transport (by 25.7%), in inedible raw materials except fuels (by 23.4%), in chemicals and related products (by 19.7%), in oils, fats, animal and vegetable waxes (by 6.4 %), in mineral fuels, lubricants and derivatives (by 6.1%), in beverages and tobacco (by 5.4%) and in live animals and tobacco (by 4.8%), the Office reported.

The Central Statistical Office announced today that exports increased by 19% y / y to EUR 90 billion in January-April 2021, while imports increased by 15.6% in this period and amounted to EUR 86.5 billion.
