Heineken Romania, one of the largest beer producers on the local market, the subsidiary of the Dutch group, wants to stop the activity in the factory in Constanța, approximately in September 2023.

"We are proud of our tradition in the manufacture of beer from Constanța, but the factory has been operating well below capacity for several years. It is necessary to have the most efficient production footprint to ensure growth and additional investments, in the long term", is the company's argument .

Heineken says it will, over time, transfer elements of the production and packaging capacities of the plant in Constanța to the other plants in Craiova, Miercurea Ciuc and Ungheni.
