The state company Hidroelectrica, the largest producer of electricity in Romania, plans to buy about 12 hectares of land in Brăila county, necessary for the construction of a photovoltaic park.

Hidroelectrica is currently preparing the evaluation of the lands, in order to prepare offers to purchase them from the current owners. The hydro producer has long been planning the construction of a 45 MW photovoltaic park in the outskirts of the Tudor Vladimirescu commune in Braila, having its own land of 55 hectares there.
Hidroelectrica, controlled by the Ministry of Energy with 80 percent of the capital, finished the first 9 months of last year with a net profit of RON 5.18 billion, 42 percent higher than the similar period in 2022.
