President Klaus Iohannis promulgated the law that provides for exemption from taxes and fees in the case of buildings classified as historical monuments during renovation or rehabilitation works. The measure will apply starting in 2025.

"There is no tax/tax on buildings for: buildings classified as historical, architectural or archaeological monuments, regardless of the owner of the right of ownership or administration, which do not have the street and/or main facade renovated or rehabilitated according to the provisions of Law no. 422/2001 regarding the protection of historical monuments, for the period of the renovation or rehabilitation works, starting from the date of the construction authorization and up to the date of the final reception report regarding the works carried out, in compliance with the provisions of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 77/2014 ," provides the project initiated by PNL parliamentarians.
