Both the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and the Mayor of Budapest Gergely Karacsony have spoken out against the proposal of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce to abolish or suspend business tax. Karacsony has deemed the proposal unprofessional, as it doesn’t compensate municipalities on the loss of income that would finance operational expenditure. The BCC added that the proposal could pose serious problems for public services and are a threat to the economy.
