The Hungarian parliament is debating over an amendment to the labour code that would enable the employee to EUR 45 per month for working from home. Despite the epidemic in force according to labour rules a company cannot order an employee to work from home, hence the amendment to the labour code is necessary to make the rules more flexible. The plans also allow the employer to give to workers 16,100 HUF (EUR 45) tax free to compensate for the costs of gas, electricity, water and internet services. At the same time the employee will have to follow all health and safety regulations, whereas in case of an accident even during working from home it will be considered as an accident at work.
