Inflow of FDI to Poland increased by 93% y / y to PLN 114.24 billion in 2021

The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) to Poland amounted to PLN 114.24 billion in 2021 compared to PLN 59.26 billion a year earlier, i.e. increased by 93% y / y, according to data from the National Bank of Poland (NBP).

"In 2021, the net inflow of capital from foreign direct investment amounted to PLN 114.2 billion. This was due to: reinvestment of profits in the amount of PLN 75.6 billion, capital inflow from shares and other forms of capital participation in the amount of PLN 19.6 billion. PLN and the inflow of capital from debt instruments in the amount of PLN 19.1 billion ", it read in the publication" Foreign direct investments in Poland in 2021 ".

In 2021, foreign direct investments went mainly to entities involved in industrial processing (PLN 41.4 billion), professional, scientific and technical activities (PLN 23.1 billion) and trade (PLN 18.5 billion). The outflow of capital was recorded in the case of entities operating in the area of ​​telecommunications services (PLN -6.1 billion), the central bank reported.

A high share of reinvested profits was recorded in the countries with the largest amounts of foreign direct investment, ie the Netherlands (PLN 18 billion), Germany (PLN 12.8 billion) and Luxembourg (PLN 11.2 billion), it was also announced.

The income of foreign direct investors from direct investments made in Poland in 2021 reached the historically highest value of PLN 122.7 billion. Reinvested profits recorded the highest level in history of PLN 75.6 billion, which resulted from the very good financial standing of enterprises with foreign capital Moreover, the dividends paid amounted to PLN 39 billion, and the income from debt financial instruments (interest) amounted to PLN 8.1 billion, the report reads.

The highest revenues were generated by direct investors from the Netherlands (PLN 31.6 billion), Germany (PLN 20.6 billion), Luxembourg (PLN 16.1 billion) and France (PLN 9.6 billion).

The highest income was generated by investors holding shares in domestic direct investment entities related to industrial processing (PLN 47.6 billion), trade (PLN 26.6 billion), activities related to information and communication (PLN 9.8 billion) as well as financial and insurance (PLN 9.1 billion), the report reads.
