The Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration has unveiled a major investment of RON 472.9 million, equivalent to approximately EUR 95 million, dedicated to the construction of a state-of-the-art sports complex in Oradea. This significant funding will support the development of a multifaceted facility designed to enhance the city’s sporting and hospitality infrastructure.

The ambitious project includes the construction of a modern football stadium covering 13,000 square meters with a seating capacity exceeding 16,000 spectators. Additionally, the complex will feature a hotel complete with a restaurant, conference rooms, and a dedicated SPA center aimed at supporting sports recovery.

According to a press release from the Ministry, the Romanian government has formally approved the investment project under the title “Construction of Sports Complex - Objective 1, Oradea Municipality, Făgăraşului Street no. 2, Bihor County.” The project is structured in five phases, with the football stadium being the initial focus. The stadium is designed to accommodate 16,291 attendees, marking a significant upgrade to the region’s sporting facilities.

This development underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing sports infrastructure and promoting Oradea as a key destination for both local and international events.
