A Japanese company active in the automotive sector plans to break ground for a factory in Serbia’s central municipality of Indjija by the end of February, according to the head of the municipal government, Vladimir Gak.

A total of 200 workers will be employed at the factory, Gak said. The investment has been declared a project of national importance by Serbia’s government.

Last August, local news portal Vojvodina Uzivo quoted Gak as saying that negotiations with an unnamed Japanese investor were in progress in Indjija, with the planned investment worth EUR 40 million.
