The energy-saving project Green Port Strašnice, implemented by JRD Development (a member of the JRD Group), is already under construction. The general contractor, Metrostav, therefore started the installation of insulating windows with triple glazing and the installation of internal wiring. Three houses with 156 healthy apartments and 1,320 sqm of retail space will be built in the residential area, which will be complemented by a small park with greenery and relaxation elements. The individual buildings will cover over 920 sqm of green vegetation roofs, which corresponds to the area of almost five tennis courts. The developer plans to approve the project, which is already 94 percent sold out, in the spring of 2022.

"There is really a lot of interest in the Green Port Strašnice project," says Pavel Krumpár, JRD's sales director. "The compact construction of the new project is in line with sustainable construction and the result is an excellent example of urban architecture for the 21st century. In addition to modern materials and technologies that ensure a healthy indoor environment (eg a controlled ventilation system with heat recovery), it also has a number of other environmental elements. These include booths for the common lynx, built directly into the insulation of individual apartment buildings, or green vegetation roofs. They have several functions: they cool the building and the surrounding air, disrupt the formation of the so-called urban heat island, serve as thermal and sound insulation, absorb pollutants from the environment and help increase local biodiversity. "

The Green Port Strašnice residential complex, which grows on the site of the former headquarters of the Czech Maritime Navigation, includes three houses connected by a commercial parterre, 1,320 sqm of commercial space and a courtyard with greenery with relaxation elements. Most of the 156 residential units with a healthy indoor environment will be complemented by a front garden, loggia, balcony or terrace. The common areas will include a carriage house / bike shed, rich facilities for cyclists (bicycle stands, outdoor dishwasher or service station) and a parking space in the basement with the possibility of installing charging stations for electric cars. All houses will bear names associated with the nautical theme, which will be reflected in the design of interior common areas.
