German construction materials manufacturer Knauf Group will open a new glass mineral wool factory this June in Târnăveni, Mureș County, through its subsidiary Knauf Insulation. The facility, described as the most modern of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, represents an investment of EUR 140 million.

The plant is expected to produce over 75,000 tons of mineral wool annually, serving both the Romanian market and other countries in Central and Eastern Europe.

Earlier this year, in February, Knauf Group also received a construction permit for another factory in Huedin, Cluj County. This project, carried out by its Knauf Gips subsidiary, involves an investment of more than EUR 75 million and is described as the largest investment in this sector in Cluj.
