The German giant Knauf will launch an investment of EUR 200 million in Romania, planning to develop two new factories for plasterboard, metal profiles and insulation materials, which will generate 200 jobs.

At the same time, the materials produced will be able to provide part of the internal needs of construction materials, given that 90 percent of homes in Romania need insulation in order to reduce carbon emissions and the consumption of energy and natural gas for heating.

Last month, Knauf Insulation took over the Gecsat glass mineral wool factory in Târnăveni, Mureș County. The transaction, signed at the beginning of the year, was approved by the Competition Council.
