Last year, 60,787 homes were completed in Romania

In 2024, 60,787 homes were completed, down by 10,667 homes compared to 2023. Also, in 2024 compared to 2023, there was an increase in the share of homes completed in rural areas (from 39% in 2023 to 43% in 2024) and a decrease in urban areas (from 61% in 2023 to 57% in 2024).

In the fourth quarter of 2024, 18,475 homes were put into use, down by 2,986 homes compared to the fourth quarter of 2023, according to the INS. Most homes were built in urban areas (58%). The distribution of completed housing by financing funds reveals that, in the fourth quarter of 2024, compared to the fourth quarter of 2023, both the number of homes built from private funds decreased by 2,904 homes, and those from public funds, by 82 homes.
