Less building plots sold, but prices still on the rise in Budapest

According to research conducted by Otthon Centrum around 10% fewer building plots were sold in Q3 2020 compared to the previous year. At the same time despite the drop in sales the average prices for land were higher. Head of analysis for Otthon Centrum, Gabor Sooki-Toth, mentioned in the report that for instance the average price paid for a plot of land in the XIIth district in 2019 cost in the range of EUR 140-200.000, and now the average has exceed EUR 250.000. According to the report the average price per square meter of land was EUR 35 per square meter, with the cheapest plot being sold at EUR 14 per square meter in the XXII district and the most expensive being sold in the XII district for EUR 450 per square meter.
