German air carrier Lufthansa has suspended for at least one year its investment in an aircraft service plant in Miskolc for their subsidiary company Lufthansa Technik. This is caused by limited business in aircraft operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the plans Lufthansa was supposed to develop an area of 20.000 square meters and invest almost EUR 120m. The aircraft service plans was to hire 100-150 people by 2022, and reach the capacity of 400 employees by 2025. Now all of these actions have been suspended, and Lufthansa Technik’s future is at risk.
