Markus Diers takes over as head of asset management for retail property at Union Investment

Union Investment is bringing Markus Diers (44), an experienced retail expert with many years of service to the company and management experience, back into the team. Markus Diers, currently Managing Director at Redos Real Estate GmbH in Hamburg, will take over as Head of Retail Asset Management at Union Investment on 1 March 2024. From 2005 to 2016, he was already responsible at Union Investment as a specialist for retail property and later as Group Head of Portfolio Management for the European retail portfolio.

In his new role as head of department and with responsibility for the management of over 50 retail properties in Union Investment's funds, Markus Diers succeeds Lars Richter, who played a key role in building up the portfolio and the department, successfully managed it for over 20 years and will retire from the company at the end of 2024.

Markus Diers has more than 20 years of experience in property management, with a focus on the asset management of retail properties. Before joining Redos, where he is currently responsible for asset and leasing management in the Redos Group's fund division, Markus Diers worked for five years at HIH Real Estate GmbH as Head of Asset Management Retail.
