Merko and Connecto Eesti to build new power lines to Estonian islands

AS Merko Infra, part of AS Merko Ehitus group, and AS Connecto Eesti signed a contract with Elering AS to build new power lines between the Estonian mainland and the islands of Muhu and Saaremaa. Two 35 kW lines will be dismantled and replaced with a new 110 kW line. In the Suur Väin strait, between the mainland and Muhu island, Merko will be the lead partner with a 51/49 percent share in the €9m project. In the Väike Väin strait, between Muhu and Saaremaa, Connecto will be the lead partner with a 51/49 percent share in the €5.4m project. Completion for both projects is scheduled for December 2020.
