MFPR: The government has approved the project of the European Funds for Eastern Poland program

The adoption by the government has completed the last stage of work in Poland on the 'European Funds for Eastern Poland' program for 2021-2027 (FEPW), the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy (MFPR) informed. The draft program will now be sent to the European Commission to start formal negotiations.

FEPW is one of the national programs through which European Funds will be implemented in Poland in the 2021-2027 financial perspective. The program is a continuation of dedicated support for Eastern Poland, initiated in the "Operational Program Development of Eastern Poland 2007-2013" and "Eastern Poland Program 2014-2020". A novelty is the inclusion in the program of a part of Mazovia - without Warsaw and the adjacent poviats - i.e. the statistical region of Mazovia regional.

"European Funds for Eastern Poland 2021-2027 is the third edition of a special, supra-regional program that will support investments essential for the faster development of Eastern Poland," said Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak, Deputy Minister of Funds and Regional Policy.

The new program European Funds for Eastern Poland will focus on four main areas: entrepreneurship and investment, energy and climate, a coherent transport network and social capital, tourism and spa services, it was also stated.

The program will continue to finance investments in the basic infrastructure of the macroregion.

The total budget of the program is over EUR 2.5 billion.
