Ministry of Health: Daily number of vaccinations against COVID-19: 44,681

The daily number of vaccinations against COVID-19 was 44,681, with a total of 3,383,426 vaccinations, the Ministry of Health reported. The number of new and confirmed cases of infection was 7,937.

So far, 4,466,360 doses of the vaccine have been delivered to Poland. 3,698,700 were sent to vaccination centers and 4,913 were disposed of, the ministry said on its vaccination website.

The number of post-vaccination adverse events was 3,588, also reported.

The ministry also said today that there have been 7,937 new cases of coronavirus infection, confirmed by positive laboratory tests.

According to the Ministry of Health, as of this morning, 192,491 people were quarantined. 15,400 people were hospitalized (out of 26,241 beds for COVID-19 patients). 1,540 ventilators were occupied (out of 2,568 available in hospitals).

As emphasized by Health Minister Adam Niedzielski, we are currently dealing with the third wave of the pandemic. According to forecasts, its peak is expected in 3-4 weeks. The average number of new cases of coronavirus per day (on a weekly basis) would then range from 10 to 12 thousand daily.

On February 1, stores in shopping malls were opened under strict sanitary regime. Art galleries and museums are also open. Two weeks ago, restrictions on the hotel, cultural and sports industries were loosened. Hotels, accommodation, cinemas and theaters, philharmonics and operas have been opened, with 50% of vacancies. Activity in the open space is allowed: on sports fields, tennis courts, slopes, as well as swimming pools. From Saturday, additional restrictions were reintroduced in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.

People who come to Poland are still, in principle, obliged to undergo a 10-day quarantine (except for those who have tested negative for the coronavirus).
