Mitsubishi to build gas power plant in N. Macedonia

Japan's Mitsubishi Motors plans to build a 250 MW gas power plant in North Macedonia, according to state-owned power utulity ESM. Mitsubishi wants to build the plant near the REK Bitola coal-fired power plant, with a view to start operations by the beginning of 2026.

In the past three years, Mitsubishi has invested about EUR 2 billion euro in the construction of gas power plants and the company also expressed readiness to participate in the construction of other plants envisaged in North Macedonia's renewable energy transition plan.
