MRPiT: Registered unemployment rate fell to 6.3% in April

The registered unemployment rate in April 2021 fell by 0.1 percentage point. m / m to 6.3%, according to the estimates of the Ministry of Development, Labor and Technology (MRPiT).

The registered unemployment rate estimated by MRPiT amounted to 6.3% in April this year, which means that compared to the previous month it fell by 0.1 percentage point. April is the second consecutive month when the number of registered unemployed in labor offices decreased.

The preliminary data of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy show that the number of registered unemployed in labor offices in April this year was amounted to 1,053.3 thousand people and compared to the end of March this year, this number fell by 25.1 thousand people, or 2.3%, was also reported.

"The COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions introduced in connection with it did not have such drastic changes on the Polish economy as announced in the spring of last year. The relatively good situation on the labor market is undoubtedly the result of the measures we have introduced to protect jobs," she said. Deputy Minister Iwona Michałek.

The lowest registered unemployment rate was recorded in the Wielkopolskie voivodship (3.7%), and the highest in Warmińsko-Mazurskie (10.1%), the ministry reported

In April this year, according to preliminary data, employers reported 107.4 thousand vacancies and job activation places to labor offices, i.e. 10.5 thousand (8.9%) less than in March this year and 49.2 thousand thousand (84.4%) more than in April 2020.

The Central Statistical Office (GUS) previously reported that the unemployment rate registered at the end of March 2021 was 6.4%, i.e. it fell by 0.1 percentage point. against February this year. In March 2020, this rate was 5.4%.

In January this year. the president signed the budget act for 2021 assuming that the registered unemployment rate at the end of 2021 will be 7.5%.
