Netto Polska plans to transform the acquired Tesco stores into modern Netto 3.0 stores within 18 months, announced Janusz Stroka, the president of Netto Polska. The new format has already been implemented in over 160 Netto stores in Poland.

Last week, the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) granted Salling Group - the owner of the Netto chain - permission to take over Tesco Polska. This means that Netto can take over 301 stores and 2 distribution centers covered by the agreement.

"We look forward to the approval of the transaction and the commencement of this historic process of transformation of acquired stores into new, modern Netto 3.0 stores, as well as the implementation of new Tesco colleagues to support them. We want to complete this task in the next 18 months. Now begins. a real job for us, "said Stroka.

The assumption is that wherever possible, the staff of the new Netto stores will be employees of the former Tesco. Along with the transformation of the next acquired Tesco branches into the Netto 3.0 format, their employees will undergo a training program aimed at preparing them to work in accordance with the standards applicable in their new workplace.

The Salling Group is active in the retail distribution of everyday consumer goods through supermarkets, hypermarkets and discounters, as well as online stores, cafes, restaurants and gastronomy (through Netto). The company has about 400 stores in Poland and three distribution warehouses, employs over 5.5 thousand. people. Outside of Poland, the network is present in Denmark and Germany.
