Nicușor Dan, the mayor of Bucharest, who is running for president of Romania, established his campaign headquarters in the former space occupied by the Gambrinus brewery on the ground floor of the Cișmigiu hotel. The space is rented from the developer Hercesa, for which rent is paid at market level price.

The choice of this space is not accidental. The Cismigiu Hotel is located near the capital's City Hall, and the request to rent it came from the mayor himself.

Inaugurated in November 2012, the Cismigiu Hotel is owned by the Spanish company Hercesa, which built the Stellaris Residencias residential project, near the Steaua stadium in Bucharest. Hercesa also built the Vivenda Residencias project in sector 2. The developer bought the hotel in 2006 and invested EUR 15 million in renovating the building.
