Number of Romanian apartments sold fell in February

Fewer apartments were sold in February as well, not just in January, according to data from the National Agency for Cadastre and Real Estate Advertising. In the first two months of this year, 22 percent fewer transactions were initialed compared to the same period in 2022. Romanians are no longer flocking to buy apartments. Not even in Bucharest, where only increases were seen in the last months of last year.

Thus, in the first two months of this year, 19,257 transactions were initialed, down 22 percent compared to the same period last year. In February, just over 11,000 transactions with individual units were initialed.
