Greece will receive all tourists who received the Russian "Sputnik V" vaccine without any restrictions this summer, said Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. He underlined that the situation with the epidemic in the country is getting better, vaccination is getting faster, and the weather conditions are ideal, which, as he said, instills optimism that Greece will safely open the tourist season on June 15.

"We see no reason to make a difference because according to the information we have, the Russian vaccine is safe and effective. This means that tourists from Russia, which is a big market for us, and all those who have been vaccinated with 'satellite V' can travel freely," - reports the Greek portal" Iefemerida ". It was also emphasized that the Prime Minister thus made it known that Greece is ready for the so-called the green passport is activated earlier, before the review and refinement of the certificate is completed at the European level, and that everyone who has a vaccine certificate, a negative PCR or an antigen test is welcome. For now, there is no specification about the "Sinofarm" vaccine, but it is realistic that it will be accepted in the foreseeable future, given the good relations between Athens and Beijing and the Chinese tourists who are gladly counted on.

Tourism Minister Harris Theocharis emphasizes that Greece is safe and that it is already ready to receive guests. According to him, the safety protocols that will be applied, vaccination, and express tests enable the tourist sector to speak in an organized and responsible manner about the tourist season in the conditions of a pandemic. Theocharis announces that the citizens of Greece will have their vaccination certificate as early as June 1, and that, at the same time, everything will be done to further facilitate the procedure of entry of citizens from countries outside the EU. During his stay in Germany, from where four million tourists arrived in the best years, leaving three billion euros, the Minister lobbied for the lifting of bans and quarantine as soon as possible, which would wait for German citizens after returning from a summer vacation in Greece.

Almost 100,000 people are vaccinated daily, and the Johnson and Johnson vaccine is being used. So far, more than three million Greeks have been vaccinated, and by the end of May, according to the authorities, half of the population should be immunized.

In an interview with Greek TV Mega, Professor Dr. George Pavlakis warns that a new wave of pandemics is possible during the summer, because it is impossible to predict where and when new stream will appear, citing the example of Israel, where the corona erupted again last summer. Also, all the days after Easter are critical, because it will only now be shown whether the easing measures have brought only relief or whether we should already worry about the unfavorable results of the rapid tests. More than 2,000 new cases are still registered daily, 800 patients are on respirators, and close to 100 people die every day.
