Hungary's largest chicken meat processing plant was inaugurated in Bábolna by Hungarian Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Sándor Fazekas. The factory was built by American-owned OSI Food Solutions. OSI Food Solutions has been the largest provider company for McDonald’s since 1995, with 90 percent of its poultry being delivered to Mcdonald’s. The new project is an extension of an existing factory, with investment costs said to run to HUF 5.5 bn. The facility’s capacity of 7,000 tons will be tripled and the development will create 60 new jobs. They’ll be delivering chicken to 16 European McDonald's restaurants from the Bábolna factory. The Bábolna factory is one of Hungary’s largest factories, with annual revenues last year of HUF 7.4 bn.
