Panattoni, a project developer for industrial and logistics real estate in Europe, announces the partial leasing of City Dock Berlin Spandau to the Berlin company TIER Mobility, Europe's leading provider of shared micromobility solutions. TIER has acquired a total floor space – incl. offices – of approx. 3,200 sqm, which is split into two units. They also intend to take on another unit. Handover and start of tenancy are scheduled for 1 December 2021.

With the goal of changing mobility for the better, TIER has been a climate-neutral company since January 2020. The provider will use the spaces in City Dock Spandau to charge the lithium-ion batteries of their e-scooters and e-mopeds as well as to store vehicles and equipment, such as cargo bikes. They will also be used to service and repair their e-scooters and e-mopeds and to store spare parts. And TIER has a sustainable solution for their daily operations: Lightweight electric vans and other electric vehicles will be used for delivery, maintenance and transportation, thus helping to ensure that higher standards of sustainability are met. The storage and recharging of the batteries also satisfy the most stringent fire and safety standards.

Nils Hartmann, Regional Operations Manager in Berlin/Potsdam at TIER: “We are delighted to be able to expand our capabilities in Berlin with the new spaces in City Dock Spandau. By reducing our logistics workload and the associated CO2 emissions, we can make operation of our fleet even more efficient and sustainable. At the same time, the location and transport links of the new site will provide the ideal conditions for further growth.”

The City Dock in Spandau, Berlin, was the first City Dock project to be completed by Panattoni. The innovative business park encompasses a total rental space of roughly 14,100 sqm and is only 1.5 km from Berlin-Spandau railway station and approx. 3 km from the B2 and B5 federal roads. With a view to building in a sustainable manner, the Spandau City Docks were constructed according to the DGNB Gold Standard.

Panattoni’s innovative business parks provide commercial spaces in or close to cities and with excellent links to road networks and public transport. The City Docks are available to a wide range of small and medium-sized companies, chains with branches as well as fast-growing start-ups from diverse industries such as trade and production. As the spaces can be configured in a flexible manner, this gives future tenants the freedom to shape and use their area as they see fit. Additional City Docks are currently being developed in Berlin Marzahn, Falkensee, Essen, Hilden (Dusseldorf), Hanover, Leonberg and Kirchheim near Munich.

“With TIER Mobility, we have an innovative tenant for our City Dock in Spandau. The business park provides attractive options for the company’s dynamic development. We would especially like to thank the building authority of the district of Spandau for the smooth collaboration and coordination once again,” says Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni.
