PKO BP has started testing Metaverse technological solutions

PKO Bank Polski is testing new technological solutions and trusting to use Metverse in its operations, the bank said. To begin with, it moved the PKO Rotunda to the virtual world and launched his first facility in the metaworld.

"Metaverse, in the perspective of a decade, may become a development impulse for the global economy, such as the appearance of a personal computer, the Internet or smartphones in the past. I would like PKO Bank Polski to be ready to take advantage of the resulting opportunities [...]. Way to implement This goal is achieved by gathering knowledge and experience built during our presence in the metaworld. That is why we decided to transfer our banking icon, PKO Rotunda, to the Metaverse world and launch our first branch there," said Paweł Gruza, vice president of the bank's management board.

PKO Bank Polski announces that it will use its presence in Metaverse to gain experience and test technological solutions that will be used to develop a new communication channel with customers and its business use in the future.

In the first place, the bank will seek to use the Metaverse's potential to more immersive onboarding new employees and conduct training courses for them. New solutions in this area may help to overcome the challenges faced by companies around the world after switching to a hybrid mode, it was announced.

At the same time, the bank will carry out preparatory work to create a new channel of communication with customers. In the next decade, it will also develop solutions related to identifying customers' identities in metaworlds and test the possibility of integrating banking products, the bank announced.

Decentraland platform users can visit the virtual PKO Rotunda. An exhibition of Polish contemporary art gathered by PKO Bank Polski, an exhibition devoted to the history of the bank and a gallery of payment cards has been prepared for visitors to the building. The most important points of the virtual PKO Rotunda are encouraged by the elements of gamification in the form of digital dots available for collection. Robots are also present in the building at all times, helping visitors to get acquainted with basic information about the bank.

PKO Bank Polski reminds that through the platform Let's Fintech with PKO Bank Polski, operating in the bank, it establishes cooperation with startups and collects knowledge about trends in innovation and uses it to support the digital transformation of the organization. As part of Let's Fintech with PKO Bank Polski, the company has analyzed over 1000 startup ideas submitted so far and carried out over 30 pilots, which resulted in 22 specific business implementations.
