Poland: Non-bank loan market reaches record sales in July 2025
The Polish non-bank loan sector recorded historically high sales in July 2025 across both cash loan and installment loan segments, according to data from the Credit Information Bureau (BIK).
Cash loans up to 60 days reached a total value of PLN 1.19 billion, up 26.4% year-on-year, with around 480,000 loans granted (+12.5% y/y). These short-term loans accounted for 70.1% of total cash loan value and 85% of all loans issued in July. The average loan size in this category rose by 12.8% to PLN 2,740 compared with July 2024.
Cash loans over 60 days also showed significant growth. Lenders issued 85,000 loans worth PLN 506 million, representing increases of 20.2% in volume and 26.7% in value compared with July 2024. The average value of these longer-term loans was PLN 5,948, up 5.3% year-on-year.
BIK noted that both short-term and longer-term cash loans achieved record sales levels for July.
In the installment loan segment, lending activity also accelerated. Companies issued 894,000 installment loans worth PLN 600 million. The number of loans increased by 25.7% year-on-year, while the value rose by 16.0%. However, the average loan amount fell by 7.7% to PLN 671, suggesting that consumers increasingly opted for smaller-value financing for specific purchases.
