Polish government wants to adopt a digitization program worth EUR 1.99 billion

The government plans to establish a program called "European Funds for Digital Development", the aim of which is to support digital transformation by ensuring, among other things, broad access to ultra-fast Internet, development of public e-services and support for the development of digital skills, results from the list of legislative and program works of the Council of Ministers. The budget of the program, which is to be implemented in the years 2021-2027, amounts to EUR 1.99 billion.

Adoption of a resolution on this matter by the Council of Ministers is planned for Q3.

The aim of the program is to support the digital transformation of the country through the implementation of projects that will ensure: wide access to ultra-fast internet, effective and user-friendly advanced public e-services, effective operation of the national cybersecurity system, access to data with significant potential for further use, support the development of digital skills and develop cross-sectoral cooperation for digital solutions to socio-economic problems, according to an announcement from the council.

The total allocation of funds from the European Regional Development Fund under the Program budget amounts to EUR 1,988 million.

Adoption of the resolution by the Council of Ministers will enable the official start of negotiations and approval of the Program by the European Commission.
