Portland Trust wants a portfolio of solar projects of over 500 MW. The first project will be about 131 MW, in Argeş and is already being approved by Transelectrica. The development intentions of Portland Trust could be valued at over EUR 450 million, this being one of the most important investment announcements in the new wave of renewables expected for Romania.

"The fact that there was a lot of talk in the real estate market, but little was done on the green development side, designed in a sustainable way, determined us to take action," said Robert Neale, founder and managing director of Portland Trust. "At the time of commissioning, in 2022, the Pitesti project will be one of the largest solar parks in Romania," he added.
