Prada buys final 20% of factory in Romania

The Prada fashion group became the sole owner of the Hipic Prod Impex footwear factory in Sibiu, Romania, after buying the final 20 percent package from the local entrepreneur Andreea Sabău. Hipic Prod Impex closed 2020 with a turnover of RON 28 million, down from RON 45 million in the previous year.

Prada has a total of 23 production units, of which 20 in Italy and one each in the United Kingdom, France and Romania. Locally, the group is developing a new factory. Between 2019 and 2021, the company invested EUR 80 million in production.
