The Prague municipality plans to build a new building for the Waldorf Lyceum and apartment buildings with up to 200 apartments on land at Radlická Street in Jinonice. On Monday, the serving council of the capital city approved a memorandum with Prague 5. According to it, the municipality will leave a smaller part of the land it has been entrusted with to the city. According to the approved document, construction could begin after 2025, and the Prague Development Company (PDS) will be in charge of the preparation.

The Waldorf Lyceum, which uses the alternative pedagogical method of the same name, is established in the capital and is now based in a building in Opatov, which, according to the memorandum, is insufficient in capacity. According to the approved document, the location in Jinonice is also advantageous in that the Waldorf Elementary School is located near the planned new building.

In addition to the secondary school, the municipality also plans to build municipal rental apartments on large plots of land located east of Radlická Street near the Jinonice metro station. Construction will require a change in the zoning plan, which the city is preparing and which should be approved early next year.

PDS will be in charge of the project, which is a subsidy organization established by the city to prepare housing projects on city land. The first step on the part of the PDS will be the preparation of a study of the entire wider area as a basis for specifying and defining the terms of reference for tender procedures or architectural competitions or competitions for individual housing construction and secondary school projects.

PDS is currently preparing constructions at more than a dozen locations in the metropolis, where up to 8,000 urban rental apartments should be built in the future. For some smaller projects, a designer has already been selected, for others PDS has announced tenders or architectural competitions.
