Residential building permits decreased by 7%

More than 22,700 building permits for residential buildings were issued in the first semester of this year, down 7.1 percent compared to the first semester of 2021, according to the National Institute of Statistics.

Decreases were recorded in the following development regions: South-Muntenia (-499 permits), North-East (-477), Bucharest-Ilfov (-231), West (-227), South-East (-175), South - West Oltenia (-134) and North-West (-29). The Center Region is the only one that recorded an increase in the number of authorizations (+33).

In June compared to the previous month, the number of building permits issued for residential buildings decreased by 5.6 percent, up to 4017. Of the total number of building permits for residential buildings, 68.1 percent are for the rural area.
