Romania: Apartments continue to become more expensive

The average prices of apartments for sale – old and new – registered a 14% increase in October compared to the same month last year. In terms of contacts, the data show that in October this year there were 53% more interactions between sellers and buyers, compared to October last year.

“October brought a historic record of contacts on our platform – an important indicator of the high interest in both apartments, houses and commercial spaces. This increased level of interactions between sellers and buyers reflects the trust and dynamism of the market, and we will continue to support these connections and at the same time transparency in real estate transactions,” said Monica Dudău, Senior Marketing Manager Storia & OLX Imobiliare.

In Bucharest, in October 2024 the average price for the sale of new and old apartments was 1,910 euros/square meter, 16% higher than October 2023. Old apartments are, on average, 17% more expensive than the same month last year, with a price of EUR 1,987 /square meter. New apartments are found at an average asking price of EUR 1,803/ square meter and are 11% more expensive than the same month last year.

Thus, in October 2024, the average price of a studio apartment (40sqm) in Bucharest was EUR 76,398, the average price of a two-room apartment (55sqm) is EUR 105,048, and the price of a three-room apartment (75sqm) is EUR 143,247.
