Romanians are increasingly moving to apartments with larger areas than the homes they are living in already, which led to an increase in the average purchase value of a property in 2021. According to an analysis by the real estate agency 24REAL, there was a sharp increase in the residential sector, with a higher interest for 2 and 3 room apartments, the price of purchasing a building being, on average, about EUR 100,000.

"The real estate market continued to grow in the second half. The clients' preferences were the 2 and 3 room apartments. Most of them are looking for larger areas than the current ones where they live and, of course, they are mainly oriented towards those properties that have balconies or terraces, these becoming a defining criterion in the clients’ options," said Oscar Răceanu, Head of Residential Division within the Agency.
