The Directorate of Roads and Motorways (ŘSD) will start buying about 350 plots of land for the construction of the Plas bypass in the north of Plzeňsko from the middle of the year. It will include the highest bridge in the Czech Republic, 87 meters above the river Střela. Purchases will take about 1.5 years. If all goes well, the construction of a new 1st class road with a half-kilometer bridge, all worth about 1.5 billion crowns, should begin in the second half of 2024, according to Miroslav Blabol, director of the Pilsen RSD area.

The bypass will measure 5.5 kilometers. It is to be completed in 2027, when it will take traffic from the center of Plas and drivers will avoid confusing turns on both sides of the city, where severe accidents occur. Traffic on the I / 27 road from Pilsen via Plasy and Kralovice to Most has been steadily increasing for several years and heavy trucks have been increasing, mainly with the raw materials mined in the region. Up to 10,000 cars pass through the center every day.

ŘSD has completed the geometric plans of the bypass route and will start purchasing land at the beginning of the second half of this year. "There are over 200 sheets of ownership on the construction site and several owners on each. I think it will be about 350 property contracts and the same number of land," said Blabol.

"Above the river Střela, a beautiful 500-meter-long arched structure with an upper deck will be created," he said. The bridge that spans the deep valley will take traffic out of the city and will not disturb the panorama with the dominant monastery. In addition to the two road lanes, there will be a three-meter-wide sidewalk with a bike path, separated by barriers, and a lookout point with a transparent floor in the middle.

A similar bridge was last built in Loket nad Ohří in 1975. It will be the largest of its kind in the Plzeň Region. According to the ŘSD, the most beautiful one was selected from three variants, which counts on an arched reinforced concrete structure. Monumentists also commented on the form of the flyover.

ŘSD would like to start construction in the second half of 2024, at the latest at the beginning of 2025.

On the same road I / 27 Pilsen - Bridge closer to Pilsen, the Kaznějov bypass, which is to measure 8.4 kilometers and whose construction is to begin in 2026, is being prepared for approximately CZK 1.4 billion (excluding VAT). to start building four kilometers of road from Kaznějov to Třemošná near Pilsen for half a billion without VAT. The expected costs are likely to increase due to rising prices for construction materials and labor. The final prices will come from the budgets in the tender documents, which will be prepared in 2023 and 2024.
