The French group Saint-Gobain is investing EUR 45 million in a new production line for gypsum boards in Turda, Cluj County. The new line will be operational in April 2023. The investment comes in the context of a growing demand from the Romanian market and from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, but also for consolidating the Saint-Gobain group's position on the light construction markets.

"The new investment and previous investments made in Romania contribute to the significant decrease of the carbon footprint, through the solutions offered that help improve the energy efficiency of buildings, but also by reducing transport from other countries, which supports our goal of achieving the level of zero net carbon emissions by 2050 ”, says Ovidiu Păscuţiu, CEO of the Saint-Gobain group in Romania.
