Fraudsters are offering to buy allegedly lost suitcases from the airport on social media, posing as Prague Airport. The airport does not sell any lost luggage, airport spokeswoman Klára Divíšková said yesterday. She said the fake airport profiles appeared on Facebook and Instagram. The airport reported them to the owner of these networks, the Meta company, but Divíšková said the company did not respond to the warning.

"Fraudulent profiles claiming to be Prague Airport are appearing more and more frequently on the social networks Facebook and Instagram. Fake pages offer lost luggage for sale," Divíšková said. "Most European airports have been facing the same or similar problems with fraudulent social media pages for several months now," she added.

According to her, unclaimed suitcases are an exceptional case at Prague's Václav Havel Airport. If luggage is lost, it is sent three to four days after it is found to the headquarters of the airline in question. "Prague Airport does not sell any lost luggage," she said.
