Serbia's GDP falls by 1.4 percent

The Republic Bureau of Statistics of Serbia announced that the gross domestic product of Serbia was higher in the third quarter of 2020 compared to the second quarter by 7.4 percent, while on an annual level it recorded a real decline of 1.4 percent.

Observed by activities, in the third quarter there was a significant year-on-year real decline in gross value added recorded in construction by 18 percent, in the sectors of wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles, transport and storage and accommodation and food services by 3.0 percent and , scientific, innovation and technical activities and administrative and support service activities by 7.9 percent. Significant real growth of gross value added was achieved by the sector of industry and water supply and wastewater management, of 3.2 percent, the sector of information and communication, by 6.0 percent.
