Slavičín in the Zlín Region has completed the reconstruction of the former Slavičan Hotel. 18 flats were created there. Before the end of last year, the town put the first eight starter flats into operation and they already have their tenants, Mayor Tomáš Chmela (nez) told ČTK today. The reconstruction cost about CZK 45 million and was one of the biggest investments of last year.

The building has flats of 1 + kk and 2 + kk, as well as one multi-room flat. "There are also social flats in the building, which we will now offer," Chmela said. The apartments will be intended for single mothers, the elderly or people with low incomes.

The city did a complete renovation of the building. "The offices of the city's apartment management company were created on the lower floor. One floor was added. It's a modern building with a green roof and photovoltaics on the roof," the mayor said.

In a town with more than 6,000 inhabitants, new building plots are also being prepared for the construction of family houses in the Šabatec locality. This year, the city would like to offer the first five plots, with about 20 sites planned. The area would be home to both townhouses and detached single-family homes. The city wants to make the lots available gradually.
