Sonar Real Estate has expanded its Frankfurt office with two senior appointments. On 1 September, Simone Jenemann joined the company as Director Letting and Business Development, followed on 8 September by Matthias Berning, who will serve as Technical Asset Manager.

Jenemann has more than 25 years of experience in the real estate industry. At Sonar, she will focus on strengthening the leasing division and supporting the acquisition of new asset management mandates. She previously held the position of Senior Director and Head of Real Estate Letting Germany at Barings and earlier worked at RFR Management, Deka Real Estate, and aurelis Real Estate. She began her career with BFW Hamburg and the Southwest German Academy in Wiesbaden.

Berning brings over 20 years of experience in technical real estate management. He will oversee the technical operations of Sonar’s assets, including refurbishment and fit-out projects. Before joining the firm, he was Technical Director and Head of ESG at Velo Capital. His earlier roles included positions at Patrizia, ZETCON Ingenieure, cgmunich, and Argoneo Real Estate. He holds a degree in architecture and a master’s in Technical Facility Management from Mainz University of Applied Sciences.

According to Holger Hosang, Managing Partner of Sonar Real Estate and Head of the Frankfurt/Munich offices, the new hires bring valuable leasing expertise, technical knowledge, and ESG skills that will strengthen the firm’s asset management and development activities. Christoph Wittkop, CEO and Managing Partner, added that with around 70 employees across five offices, Sonar is well positioned to expand its investment, asset management, and leasing mandates while preparing for further renovation and transformation projects.
