Sophia Pertig has taken over as Group Head of Real Estate Project Management for Germany, Shopping Centres and Hotels at Union Investment with effect from 1 December 2023. She succeeds Ernst Högemann, who is retiring from the company. Born in Berlin, she has worked in property project management at Union Investment since 2016. Together with her 11-strong team of project managers, architects and engineers, she is responsible for the technical support of acquisitions and sales in Germany, the support of project developments and the monitoring of the technical management and maintenance of existing properties. Sophia Pertig reports to Bent Mühlena, Head of Property Project Management. Her group is currently responsible for 13 projects in a wide range of property asset classes

Pertig holds a Master of Engineering in Facility Management and Property Management. Before joining Union Investment, she spent over four years at Strabag Property and Facility Services GmbH, where she held senior positions in technical property management and was responsible for sustainable and technical building management as well as process optimisation and implementation.

"We are delighted to be able to fill this management position in project management with strong interfaces in the areas of sustainability and performance-orientated portfolio management with Sophia as an experienced in-house employee. The experience Sophia has gained in numerous modernisation projects, such as TRIIIO in Hamburg, will help us enormously with the important transformation tasks in the portfolios," says Henrike Waldburg, Managing Director of Union Investment Real Estate GmbH.
