Sun & Snow, the operator that manages the rental of nearly 2,500 flats, in more than 50 resorts and cities in Poland, expects that this year's winter holiday period could end up with results comparable to, or even better than those recorded in 2019, i.e. before the pandemic.

As of 15 January this year, the start of the winter holiday period, bookings at individual resorts are slightly higher than a year earlier at the same time, according to the data. With few exceptions, depending on the date and location, there are several to even 20 per cent more tourists. The most besieged destination in the Sun & Snow offer is Białka Tatrzańska, where only 20 per cent of dates and flats are vacant. Also very popular are Krynica Zdrój and Szklarska Poręba, where nearly 75 per cent occupancy is currently recorded. Zakopane was also traditionally at the top of the most popular destinations, with only 30 per cent of places remaining.

"In the current winter season, we are noting several trends that could be a good omen for the entire tourism industry. Firstly, advance bookings, made several weeks before the planned arrival, have returned. This is a very good sign that our leisure habits are returning and that we want to visit our favourite destinations. We are also seeing an increase in interest in the entire offer, not only in mountain resorts, but also in seaside resorts. However, as the data for e.g. Zakopane or other very popular resorts show, tourists are also paying more attention to prices, which may be lower in smaller localities, if only due to cheaper additional services or catering costs," says Mariola Skorupa, Sun & Snow Sales and Marketing Director.

According to Sun & Snow's data from previous seasons, the weather has always been crucial to the level of winter bookings, which generally this year favours relaxation on ski slopes and winter scenery. The company still offers some interesting holiday deals at moderate prices. Many of the offers available on the booking site concern this year's novelty, i.e. flats in Czarna Góra Resort, which tempts with a number of attractions: swimming pools, SPA zone, restaurants, ice rink or the possibility of buying ski passes with a 10% discount. Tourists visiting the booking site can additionally count on interesting discounts and promotional codes.

Last year, Sun & Snow also introduced the Click & Stay service, which makes it easy to access a flat and the necessary information, without having to visit the local office. Online accommodation meets the needs of guests and is a major competitive advantage in a changing market. In addition, a new segment has been created - 'slow', which focuses on homes, available whether by the sea, in the mountains or in the Masuria region. The operator plans to introduce further segments in the near future, which will make it easier for tourists to choose flats according to their individual preferences.
