Swedish concerns about the Greek economy

The pandemic has led to uncertainty among Swedish companies active in Greece, with a significant number expecting them to cut their investment spending this year. This is largely in line with the trend for Swedish companies operating in the rest of Europe, according to a study by the Swedish National Trade Committee in collaboration with the Swedish Embassy in Athens and the Greek-Swedish Chamber of Commerce on how Swedish companies in Greece perceive doing business in this country.

Participants in the survey, which included 19 of Greece's 35 Swedish companies, said the main challenges facing the country were high income taxes, low levels of digitization and bureaucracy. They recognized the state’s effort to improve in these domains and considered a high level of personal safety and access to qualified personnel to be an advantage. They also recognize great prospects in the waste management, environment, transportation and recycling sectors.
